Working

Pump water into the pipe. Still no pressure
Pressure increasing. Dangerous moment.
117 bars pressure. This fella didn't scare his head can be blown
Large scale of the pressure meter
3-piece ball valve high pressure rating
Today, I just witnessed a hydro-test (pressure test with water) onto a 12" diameter stainless steel (SCH40S, 316L) pipe with applying 117 bars of pressure. Do you know how great that pressure is?

Usually, a standard pressure for ordinary tyre is 33 pound per square inch (around 220 kilo Pascal), where is equivalent to 2.2 bars. So, the test pressure that we used is 52 times greater than the tyre pressure.

Im quite worried about the plate that welded both ends of the pipe will thrown away by this pressure if it is failed to withstand it.

can you give some information about presure test manual thanks bony borneo indonesia Tue 11-Sep-2007 19:18
